Lichens can be used as environmental indicator because lichens produce sulfur dioxide and this gets released in the air. When sulfur dioxide and rain mix they make acid rain so with lichens they will make more acid rain. Also, sulfur dioxide is toxic/poisonous so if there is a high level of sulfur then the air will be poisonous and everyone will die.

What is natural selection?
Natural selection is when a species of animal moves to a different habitat. When they move to this unknown habit and they don’t have the right characteristics to survive the new habitat or it take a lot of time to gain resources. After, a while a mutation happens in the DNA and sometimes the mutation helps with the new environment but sometimes they can be bad. when the adapted offsprings grow up they have better characteristics to collect the resources faster and better resources than the other animals in his species so after a while the others die off and the adapted animal breeds and creates another evolution of their species then that is natural selection happening.
WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ONLINE TEXT AND SPOKEN LANGUAGE?

In the 21st century technology is everywhere and there is many types of technology, mobile phones, tablets, computers and many more. Technology is used everywhere and most of the population uses it. The most evolving technology is mobile phones but not just the phones it self the one thing most people communicate with… messaging. Messaging is the most used way of communication in the 21st century because most people have access to this way of messaging and it’s soooooo much better. Messaging is soo much faster and easier. But is it easy?
The way people message now it soo different from when we speak verbally. In messaging some people will put punctuation in their messages but when we speak we don’t say full stop or comma we speak how they are spoke so when we stop a sentence we stop not “full stop” or when a comma is we take a breather. This isn’t the most predominate difference. The most predominate difference is abbreviations. In recent times, abbreviations have been used be most people in messaging especially the youth of today. Many younger people get access to technology very young now so by the time they grow up they know how to use most technology and very well.
Now abbreviations have been evolved rapidly. Abbreviations have changed messaging. In messaging abbreviations like ‘u’ for you or ‘r’ for are has been used by more and more people. It is

Anthony ‘ soliloquy act 3 sc 1
What is anthony ‘ intentions?
How does this affect the rest of the play?
I believe anthony’ intentions are that he is going to get revenge for ceasar death. I believe this as anthony says “Woe to the hand that shed this costly blood.” I interpret this as anthony saying pain will come to the conspirator who spilled the blood of caesar. I think this because woe means sorrow and when someone is in sorrow it means they are in great pain. Also, the costly blood I believe it means it is ceasar blood so this is why I believe the quote ” woe to the hand that she’d this costly blood” means pain will come to the conspirators who had the blood of ceasar on there hands.
The quote ” woe to the hand that she’d this costly blood” also sounds like anthony is saying that great sorrow will come to the hand that shed ceasar’ blood. Anthony is giving the woe personification. It is giving the word woe a human feeling, anthony is saying woe as the feeling sorrow.
I believe that in anthony’ soliloquy that anthony it trying to say he is sorry for shaking the hands of the men who killed the man who said he was his right hand.
Also,in this soliloquy anthony wants to express that he is in pain as he is sad for the death of ceasar because in the play before ac 3 sc 1 ceasar had called anthony his right

How does shakespeare build tension and play with the idea of fate?
Shakespeare uses dramatic irony to build tension because the Julius Ceasar had been made hundreds of years after the story of Julius Ceasar so most of the audience knew about the story of Julius Ceasar and his death. The audience knew about ceasar dieing on the ides of narch. When the soothsayer came out saying “beware the ides of march” this made sense of the play. This made most of the audience members clear about ceasar dieing soon. With the conspirator coming into the play it is completely known to everyone that in the middle of the play ceasar will die.
Shakespeare uses figurative language to build up tension because in act 2 sc 2 calpurnia spoke about bad omes. Also, Ceasar’s wife, the day before the ides of March, had a bad dream about Ceasar getting killed on the ides of March. Calpurnia then says “When beggars die there are no comets seen, The heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes.” This shows that Ceasar will surely die soon because there has been meteors spoke about by brutus earlier in the play. When calpurnia says these lines it shown that the meteroes are a bad omen.
Shakespeare uses pathetic fallacy as he has used meteros to show that Ceasar is going die soon. This shows the emotion anger because meteros are bright red and brightly burn, people who are angry are bright red and burn off that anger. The meteors are a way of shakespeare using pathetic fallacy to show that someone or something is angry and is metaphorically raining meteors to show anger in Julius Ceasar.
Pathetic fallacy
In this scene, a scared casca and cicero are in the streets of Rome. There is thunder and lightning. Casca tells cicero all his fears like ‘ the sway of the earth or ‘ civil strife in heaven.’ These quotes are examples of pathetic fallacy. Pathetic fallacy is when the writer uses nature to describe the emotion of the characters.
Shakespeare uses pathetic fallacy in order to show the emotions of the characters cicero and casca. An example of pathetic fallacy in the Julius caesar is ‘Are not you nov’d when all the sway of earth shakes like a thing unfair.’
When casca says this we might read the ‘sway of the earth’ as a metaphor for an earthquake. I think this because the earth shaking could mean that someone is sulking and stomping on the ground shaking the earth. This links into the play because casca wants power over Rome and ceasar is taking the power by becoming the emperor of Rome. This makes casca angry as he isn’t getting what he wants.
THBT science is a threat to humanity
I believe science is not a threat to humanity as science saves and improves lives. Science has allowed much greater medical care for the sick and disabled in society. Lifespans have increased and previously terrible diseases can be dealt with (such as cholera). Increased crop yields from intensive farming are providing enough food for the world (even if it is not being properly distributed). Science has also enabled those who were born with disabilities to live better lives, as society is able to adapt and accommodate them.
Also, science is a set of tools to improve humanity; like anything it should be used with caution. Science is not a threat to mankind, its misuse by selfish or misguided humans is the issue. Knowledge of the functioning of the universe is ethically neutral. The knowledge of science is a tool to improve the well-being of humanity and increase life choices. Like any tool it can be misused, it should be regulated and used carefully, there must be checks from government to make sure that science does not go further and faster than is in the interests of the state or than its people want. It is only through regulation, checks and inspections that we can make sure that science is used for good rather than ill and ensure that the research is performed in a moral way. But possible misuse is not a reason to outright ban such an important concept. Knowledge is morally neutral in that it has no preferences itself.
Teenagers are lazy monsters(a letter)
Dear Headmaster
I believe the school hours should change as it will make a positive impact to pupils’ education and behaviour. This will make a difference because teenagers cannot sleep as the hormone melatonin, the hormone that makes us feel tired, isn’t produced till late at night so they will be up all night. This can damage our education as in the morning teenagers are tired so they can’t concentrate at school.
I know this because we have been reading an article about the stereotypical claim that “teenagers are lazy monsters.” In this article, the author challenges this quote with two experiments about the ‘darkness’ hormone, melatonin. They experiment to find when the hormone is released into the body in a child and a teenagers, they did this twice and the results changed.
In this experiment, the scientist watched a child and a teenager live a normal day and at night they saw what time they became tired. Their oberservations told them that the child becomes sleepy at 8pm (yawning and unable to keep their eye’s open) but the teenager doesn’t have these symptoms till midnight. Although, they did the experiment again and the child feels tired at 8pm but the teenager has the same time these effects take place, as the child. This shows that not all teenagers have this effect.
This experiment has shown that the hormone is why many teenagers are lazy. Does that mean teenagers should still be seen as lazy? Many teenagers don’t like have this reputation for being lazy and criminals just because sterotypes take one bad person as a role model and decide that they are like every teenagers. This give every teenager a bad reputation.
But many teenagers are not like this they try hard for good grades and great jobs. Then their work is runied by this reputation. It has given teens trouble with jobs as many managers are being unfair and sterotypical. If the school hours change this will help teenagers have a better eduction and a better life, even if it starts early the present things can change our future.
The hours of school should change because the experiment shows that some teenagers have trouble with late night, early mornings. This can damage their eduction because in the morning teenagers are tired and struggle to constraint. That means that their grades will have a massive decrease and will misbehave a lot.
In America, one school has change their hours because of the change of the production of melatonin, with most students. This change had led to most of the teenagers being ‘lazy monsters’ (with F) to happy teenagers with A stars. This change to the school hours could change our grades.
The stereotypical claim “Teenagers are lazy monsters” it says teenagers are monsters but why monsters they don’t go around killing and terroring people. Although some teenagers chose the wrong path and join gangs but not all teenagers join gangs so the stereotypical claim that “teenagers are lazy monsters” is false.
This claim that teenagers are monsters make other teens not want to be called a teenager. Teenagers are stereotypically said to get pregnant and smoke drugs. In another text we read it was about a teenagers not wanting to be called a teenager because of this stereotypical claim that ” teenagers are lazy monsters.”
To conclude, the change of time the melatonin is produced, the statement “Teenagers are lazy monsters” is false because most teens cannot sleep till late at night. If the school hours were changed, I believe most students would have a better eduction.
Yours sincerely
Dylan Wynne
